New York City police are still searching for a suspect who beat a pregnant woman with a wrench in broad daylight last month. On Friday, the NYPD released a video of the attack that shows the 26-year-old woman backing away from the suspect in traffic on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx at about 5:20 p.m. on June 6. The suspect backs her up against a car and beats her several time in the head. It appears as though a bystander tries to intervene and is also struck. The suspect walks away and gets into a silver BMW that is unable to move with vehicles in front and behind. Bystanders surround the vehicle, and the victim appears to retrieve something from the passenger seat of the vehicle in front of the suspects vehicle. The suspect maneuvers out of the traffic and sideswipes the vehicle in front of him to go around. According to police, the victim sustained a severe laceration and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward or submit an anonymous tip.
