Police in Florida are searching for a suspect caught on surveillance video in an attempted kidnapping. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department said the suspicious male tried twice last week to abduct a 10-year-old girl on her way to school. On Wednesday, he allegedly tried to lure her with candy and money. When she refused he attempted to grab her, but she was able to run away police said. Police said the girl described the suspect as driving a black cargo-style big van with sliding doors that dont have windows, and possible damage to the rear end. On Thursday, the suspect approached the girl again and she ran away from him toward her school, police said. A surveillance video released by police shows the girl running along a sidewalk. Moments later, an adult in dark clothing can be seen running around the corner before slowing down and hanging back. Investigators are considering these incidents as attempted abductions. The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40 years old, about 510” to 6 feet tall, with brown hair. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward or submit an anonymous tip.
