Social media platform X, formerly Twitter, announced Tuesday it is launching three new shows to be hosted by former CNN anchor Don Lemon, former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and sports radio commentator Jim Rome.
The move follows a similar partnership with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who launched his new show on X last summer after leaving the network.
In 2023, we laid the groundwork for the global town square, and in 2024, that vision will come alive, X said in a company blog post.
We will create more original content and bring in more talent with some of the most interesting and engaged people on X, the company said, along with investing in creators and content partnerships that attract new users and fuel advertising.
Lemon was fired from CNN last year amid backlash for his on-air comments that Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was not in her prime and reports he allegedly mistreated women in the workplace. ‘The Don Lemon Show’ on X will feature 30-minute episode three time per week, covering politics, culture, sports and entertainment.
I’ve heard you… and today I am back bigger, bolder, freer, Lemon wrote in a post on X. I know now more than ever that we need a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors.
Gabbard’s new show will be a series of documentary style videos and broader content, X said.
We will be bringing you stories & news about the truth of whats happening in our country and world but that those in power dont what you hear, and a series of short films that share the stories of those most impacted, but whose voices are silenced, Gabbard wrote in a post on X.
Jim Rome’s new show will stream on X five days a week beginning after the Super Bowl.
We will be live on X soon and I cant wait. X provides an incredible opportunity for me to reach fans on the biggest, most dynamic platform in the world, Rome said in a post on X.
