Six people were killed and four others injured in a shooting at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Va., Tuesday night, in addition to the gunman, police said. Employees were gathering in the break room ahead of the overnight shift when a manager entered and opened fire shortly after 10 p.m., authorities said. Chesapeake Police currently believe the shooter, identified as Andre Bing, 31, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police say he was armed with one handgun and had multiple magazines of ammunition. The victims, identified Wednesday, were Brian Pendleton, 38; Kellie Pyle, 52; Lorenzo Gamble, 43; Randy Blevins, 70; Tyneka Johnson, 22; and a 16-year-old boy whose name and photo were not released because he is a minor. “I know this community, and I know it well. And I know that we will come together and lend a helping hand to the victims families,” Chesapeake Mayor Rick West said in a video message Wednesday. Bing had been working for Walmart since 2011 per reports. A motive for the shooting remains unclear, according to Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky. The Chesapeake Police SWAT team and Virginia State Police executed a search of Bings home in an effort to learn what motivated the shooting.
