A police officer in Utah was captured on video chasing a loose pig through a residential neighborhood and tackling it to the ground.
A video shared by the Grantsville City Police Department on Facebook last week shows Officer Cory Cooper running after a pig in the driveway of a home before launching himself on top of it. He held on to the rogue hog as he stood up and carried it away.
The day before the video was posted, the police department warned about hogs running free in the area.
If you are missing some hogs in the area of 700 S Quirk St. they are running at large, the police department said. The city is going to try and trap them which could be done at the owner’s expense. So please, if they are yours try and collect them as soon as possible.
Cooper told Fox 13 that three hogs were running around town terrorizing residents.
I say about a week ago we got a call about a couple of loose pigs running around town, getting into people’s yards and going through their gardens, going through their animal paddocks and things like that, cooper told the outlet.
Pigs are notorious for escaping, Cooper said. I’ve known a lot of people who’ve had them and I’ve had some experience chasing pigs down when they get out.
The pigs eluded officers for a few days, but they were eventually wrangled, and were taken to a rescue. Their owner did not come forward, police said.
