A hippo from Texas launched his second bid for the White House on President’s Day Monday, after running a wildly popular campaign in 2020, the San Antonio Zoo said.
Timothy the Hippo held his presidential press conference at the zoo on Monday in front of cheering fans from around the country, declaring his candidacy and launching his exclusive presidential merchandise line, available at the zoo and online.
Having garnered widespread support and endorsements during his 2020 campaign, Timothy is prepared to elevate his efforts with the backing of his best friend and trusted advisor, Kevin the Duck, the zoo said in a statement. The zoo’s new gift shop, the Mariposa Market, will serve as campaign headquarters.
We are incredibly proud of Timothy and his presidential aspirations, said Tim Morrow, President and CEO of San Antonio Zoo. His dedication to making America ‘HIPpo’ again, with a focus on naps, snacks, and spreading joy, is truly inspiring. At the end of the day and Hippo bottom line, is there really a better current candidate?
Timothy’s EXTRA Sturdy platform includes the Naps For All initiative, supporting every citizen’s right to enjoy at least one rejuvenating nap per day. He also supports mandatory snack time at schools and offices, and passionately promotes kindness and respect among individuals.
To support Timothy the Hippo’s campaign for HOTUS, (Hippo of the United States), donors can purchase merchandise including yard signs and T-shirts. Proceeds from the sales will support animal conservation efforts.
