Scene footage of small plane crash smoldering on highway, firefighters responding in Corona, CA

The pilot and sole passenger of a small plane escaped uninjured after crash-landing on State Route 91 in Corona, California, on Tuesday afternoon. A video shared by the Corona Fire Department shows the burning wreckage of the single-engine Piper PA-32 on the eastbound 91 Freeway ahead of the Main Street exit shortly after 12:30 p.m. A firefighter can be seen extinguishing the flames. According to the fire department, the plane broke apart and ignited on impact. The plane struck one vehicle, but no injuries were reported on the ground. Pilot Andrew Cho was trying to reach Corona Municipal Airport when he was forced to land on the freeway. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
