A so-called “porch pirate” in Oklahoma was arrested last week after an officer recognized him in surveillance video for his use of red thong underwear as a makeshift face mask. The Tulsa Police Department on Jan. 6 responded to a report of package thefts in the neighborhood 8100 S. Maybelle Avenue. Police were provided surveillance images of the suspect. “One of our Street Crimes Officers recognized the suspect from previous porch pirate cases where the suspect was wearing womens underwear as a mask,” police said in a statement, alongside surveillance images. Spencer Gougler was arrested at his home near Admiral Place and S. Rosedale Avenue and booked on five counts of larceny, knowingly concealing stolen property and grand larceny.
