PetSmart is celebrating the launch of its new Treats Rewards loyalty program by offering pet owners the chance to cover a tattoo they regret with a tattoo of their beloved pet — the ultimate mark of loyalty.
PetSmart conducted a Pet Tattoo Regret Survey last month and found that while 49% of pet parents have, or know someone who has, a tattoo they regret, a majority (58%) of pet parents with tattoo regret don’t think they’d regret getting a tattoo of their pet.
We’re celebrating all the foot – and paw – prints that our pets leave on our hearts and the love and loyalty their parents show them, Bradley Breuer, vice president of loyalty and CRM at PetSmart, said in a statement. Tattoos are the ultimate form of loyalty, but we know that sometimes the thing you thought you’d want to commemorate forever turns out to be…not so forever. So, we’re turning regrets into pets because we know you’ll never regret a reminder of your pets’ unconditional love.
Pet parents with tattoos they regret (on their arm, shoulder, shoulder blade, or leg) can enter to win a session at Alium Tattoo Studio in Los Angeles, plus travel and accommodations.
From Tuesday through April 30, pet parents can share a photo and story of a regretted tattoo and the pet that will inspire the cover up tattoo at PetSmartTattooRedo.com.
All entries will be reviewed the first week of May, and 25 finalists will move on to a second round of judging that includes Alium Tattoo Studio, with five winners selected on or around May 31.
Pet parents who have already inked their commitment to their pet with a tattoo can submit a photo at PetSmartTattooRedo.com and PetSmart will upgrade the first 20,000 entrants to VIPP status (Very Important Pet Parent), the highest tier of the new loyalty program.
The new Treats Rewards loyalty program has three tiers — Member, Bestie, and Very Important Pet Parent (VIPP) — offering pet parents more ways to earn based on how much they spend.
Our customers told us they wanted a rewards program that’s easy-to-understand, seamlessly integrated into their shopping experience and personalized just for them, said Breuer. The new PetSmart Treats Rewards program offers more ways to engage, save and discover the extraordinary value that comes from being part of the program. Through our new program, we’re deepening our connection with pet parents and bonding over our shared love of pets.
In addition to familiar program benefits such as early access to sales and new products, members-only in-store pricing, and a free gift on their pet’s gotcha day or birthday, Treats Rewards members will receive hyper-personalized offers and perks. Members will also be rewarded for using services with a new Salon Reward Certificates program, savings on Doggie Day Camp and more. And members who donate to PetSmart charities will get 2x Treats Rewards points.
