Person in ‘Scream’ Costume Scares Sonoma, CA. Multiple People Called Police on the Person Hired to Promote Paramount Pictures Upcoming ‘Scream 6,’ Per Police.

Multiple people in Sonoma, Calif., called police on Monday to report a suspicious person wearing a mask from the movie “Scream thanks to a viral marketing stunt.
The Sonoma Police Department responded to the historic town square near First Street East and East Napa Street and made contact with the individual, who was wearing the films iconic white Ghostface mask and hood.
The individual was also captured on the live webcam video operated by Visit Sonoma.
According to police, the individual was hired to promote Paramount Pictures upcoming “Scream 6” which hits theaters March 10.
The original 1996 film starring Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, and Drew Barrymore filmed scenes in Sonoma Plaza, and several other locations in Sonoma County.
