Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s help in their investigation into the killing of a pregnant Amish woman in her home on Monday.
State police said they were called at around 12:30 p.m. on Monday to a residence on Fish Flats Road in Sparta Township, southeast of Erie, for a report of a deceased woman.
Rebekah A. Byler, 23, was found deceased in her home in suspicious circumstances, according to police. Her two young children were home when her body was discovered by her husband, who came home at around noon. She was six months pregnant, according to family members.
Police did not specify how Byler was killed, but said they were conducting a criminal homicide investigation.
According to WJET-TV, family members reported seeing a red Jeep driving up and down the road, and in the victim’s driveway at around 10 a.m.
Police are asking anyone with information about persons, vehicles, or activity in the area that might seem out of the ordinary to come forward or submit an anonymous tip.
