A female fox was rescued by firefighters in the U.K. after she popped her head through a hole in a floor and became stuck.
The vixen was discovered by workers at an industrial site in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, at around 7 a.m. on Aug. 11, according to the West Midlands Fire Service.
A video and photos shared by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which also responded to the scene, show the distressed fox with her head stuck in a hole in a metal floor.
Firefighters had to use specialized equipment to cut through the floor and free the animal, and the rescue took about three hours, according to the RSPCA.
The fox was uninjured but “appeared to be lethargic after her stressful ordeal,” the RSPCA said. She was taken to Vale Wildlife Hospital & Rehabilitation Centre for additional care, the RSPCA said.
