A gigantic pumpkin weighing in at 2,554 pounds has set a new record for New York State and all of North America. The Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence, N.Y., hosted the World Pumpkin Weigh Off on Saturday, and the record-breaking gourd was brought by local grower Scott Andrusz of Andrusz Giants in Williamsville, N.Y. Photos shared by The Great Pumpkin Farm show the massive pumpkin in its patch before transport, and on the scale with its growers after winning. The pumpkin fell just short of the world record of 2,702 pounds, set in Italy in 2021, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The previous North American record was 2,528 pounds, set by a grower in New Hampshire, per reports. The Great Pumpkin Farms Fall Festival is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Oct. 31, and along with pumpkins and pies, features activities including a corn maze, a haunted barn, and a zombie paintball train.
