An apartment fire Saturday in Miami Gardens, Fla., caused a partial roof collapse and displaced more than 100 residents, fire officials said.
A video shared by Miami–Dade Fire Rescue shows smoke pouring out of the two-story New World Condominium building at 395 NW 177th St. on Saturday morning. Firefighters encountered “heavy fire throughout the structure,” but no injuries were reported.
More than 40 units responded to the three-alarm fire, and video shows firefighters tackling the blaze with hoses from above and below.
Miami–Dade Fire Rescue Chief Raied Jadallah said the building had 75 units that were impacted, and of those, “approximately half were destroyed as a result of partial collapse of the roof coupled with water damage, and smoke and fire damage.”
