A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday for victims of the mass shooting during Monday’s Fourth of July Parade in Highland Park, Ill., a suburb of Chicago.
A video shared by Twitter user Hannah Fisher shows crowds of people gathered downtown, holding candles and listening to a speaker. Local faith leaders held prayer services Tuesday and more are expected Wednesday.
The shooting left seven people dead, including both parents of a 2-year-old boy, and dozens injured.
Robert Crimo III, 21, was arrested and charged with seven counts of first-degree murder. Lake County State Attorney Eric Rinehart said in a press conference Tuesday that more charges will follow, likely including attempted murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated discharge.
