Robert Crimo III, 21, was arrested and charged with seven counts of first-degree murder following the mass shooting at the Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. These are just the first of many charges being filed against Mr. Crimo, Lake County State Attorney Eric Rinehart said in a press conference Tuesday. Further charges to account for the dozens of injured could include attempted murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated discharge, Rinehart said. Crimo allegedly shot into the crowd from atop a commercial building shortly after the parade began Monday morning, authorities said. Police released a description of his vehicle after he blended into the crowd to get away from the scene. He was pulled over and arrested about five miles away late Monday. Prayer services and a candlelight vigil were held Tuesday in honor of the victims, which included the parents of a 2-year-old boy.
