Family Of 4 Found Dead Inside Their Home On Fort Stewart Army Base In Georgia

A family of four was found dead in their home on a U.S. Army base about 40 miles southwest of Savannah, Ga., on Wednesday, officials said Thursday.
U.S. Army Garrison Fort Stewart–Hunter Army Airfield said a female soldier, her male spouse and their two children were found dead inside their on-post home after the soldier’s unit requested a welfare check on Wednesday.
Fort Stewart Military Police arrived at the home at around 2 p.m., and found the family unresponsive. All four were pronounced dead at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Fort Stewart said it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the base. The identities of the deceased were not released pending family notification.
Fort Stewart police are investigating the deaths in partnership with the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division.
