The St. Louis Police Department on Wednesday announced a first-degree murder charge against the ex-boyfriend of a woman who was reported missing on Dec. 20, after he allegedly admitted the killing to police in Wisconsin.
Police said Trenton Ivy, 31, was arrested last week in Racine, Wis., on unrelated charges.
According to police, Marquisha Williams was reported missing by her family on Dec. 20. Investigators determined she was with Ivy in her vehicle, a 2020 Jeep Compass.
On Dec. 22, detectives in St. Louis were made aware that Ivy had been taken into custody in Racine, and was the sole occupant in Williams’ vehicle at the time.
Apparent blood and biological material was located in Williams vehicle along with personal items belonging to Williams, police said.
During interviews with detectives in Racine, Ivy allegedly admitted killing Williams in St. Louis after a physical altercation, then disposing of her body in an unknown location.
On Dec. 23, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorneys Office issued a sealed warrant on Ivy for first-degree murder. Ivy remained incarcerated in Wisconsin without bond, police said.
