Crowd in London Celebrates Morocco’s World Cup Victory over Spain

Morocco knocked Spain out of the World Cup on penalty kicks Tuesday, entering the tournaments final eight for the first time. The goalless game at Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar, went to a penalty shootout where Morocco won 3–0, with Achraf Hakimi scoring the decisive goal. A video shared by Twitter user @DustinSaracini shows crowds celebrating Moroccos win in London, England, on Tuesday. Morocco became the first Arab nation to reach the quarterfinal stage, and the fourth from Africa. This years World Cup is the first to be hosted in the Middle East. Spain, the 2010 world champions, have failed to reach the quarterfinals in every World Cup since. Morocco will next face either Portugal or Switzerland for a spot in the semi-finals.
