Active Shooting Suspect At University of Nevada Las Vegas ‘Deceased’, Police Say

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a suspect was dead Wednesday afternoon after a shooting with multiple victims at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
The university sent out an alert to those on campus at noon Wednesday that an active shooter was reported at Beam Hall, a student dormitory, saying This is not a test. RUN-HIDE-FIGHT. Seventeen minutes later, the university reported shots fired at the student union.
In a 12:31 p.m. post on X, formerly Twitter, police reported the suspect was contained. At 12:37 p.m. police reported the suspect had been located and was deceased. It was not immediately clear whether the suspect was killed by police or died by suicide.
Police said there appears to be multiple victims, but details were not immediately available.
