6 Injured In Shooting Inside Kansas City Shopping Mall

Six people were injured in a shooting inside a shopping mall in Kansas City, Mo., Wednesday evening, police said.
The Kansas City Police Department said officers responded to a shooting that happened shortly before 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Crown Center, on the lower level near the food court.
Police said all six victims were believed to have non-life-threatening injuries. Three of them transported themselves to area hospitals. Five of the victims ranged in age from late teens to early 20s, and one victim was in the 50s.
Per reports, witnesses described a verbal altercation between two groups of people prompted the shooting. Multiple businesses inside the mall were damaged.
Police said multiple people were detained for questioning, but no arrests had been announced publicly Thursday morning.
The mall was closed after the shooting to allow investigators to process the scene.
