319,000 Air Fryers Sold At Target, Walmart Recalled Due To Burn Risk

Empower Brands is recalling around 319,000 air fryers due to the risk a piece can break and pose a burn hazard, according to an announcement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall includes PowerXL DUAF-10 and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual-Basket Air Fryers. According to the company, a plastic U-Channel connector that can be optionally used to connect the two baskets inside the air fryer can break during use, posing a burn Hazard.
Empire Brands said it had received 41 reports of the part breaking during use, and three reports of burns associated with the defect.
The air fryers covered by the recall were sold at Target, Walmart, Kohls and other stores nationwide, and online at those retailers’ websites, from August 2021 through October 2023.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the air fryers, and to contact Empower Brands for full refunds.
Earlier this year, Empower Brands recalled around 456,000 PowerXL Stuffed Wafflizer waffle makers due to a risk they can expel pieces of waffle or stuffing, posing a burn risk, as well as around 469,000 PowerXL Self-Cleaning Juicers due to a risk they could rupture during use, striking users or leaving shavings in the juice, posing laceration and ingestion hazards.
