Three people were killed and two others were injured in a shooting spree in Orlando, Fla., Wednesday, including a local TV news reporter.
Keith Melvin Moses, 19, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shootings, according to the Orange County Sheriffs Office.
The spree began at around 11 a.m. when Moses allegedly shot and killed a woman in her 20s who was known to him, Orange County Sheriff John Mina said in a press conference.
Shortly after 4 p.m., authorities responded to two more shootings nearby. A Spectrum News 13 reporter and photographer, who were on the scene to report the earlier shooting, were both shot near their news vehicle.
Both were transported to the hospital, where reporter Dylan Lyons was pronounced dead. Photographer Jesse Walden was critically injured.
Authorities also found a woman and her 9-year-old daughter had been shot inside a nearby home. The child died at the hospital, and Mina said her mother was at the hospital in a “fight for her life.”
Mina said its unclear whether the news crew was targeted, or whether Moses knew the woman and her daughter.
Moses has been formally charged for the first murder, while additional charges for the afternoon shootings are expected to follow, Mina said.
